Getting Started

How to find, buy, and use apps on Kyper.

What is Kyper?

Kyper is a marketplace for independently built software. Every app on Kyper is created by an indie developer, reviewed by our team, and available for purchase. Think of it as a curated app store for tools that don't need to scale — invoicing apps, project trackers, dashboards, analytics tools, and more.

Two ways to use apps

Buy once — download the source

Pay a one-time price and download the full source code. You own it — run it on your own server, modify it, or just read the code. No license servers, no expiry. You'll always have access to download the latest version.

Subscribe — hosted deployment

Pay monthly and Kyper spins up a private cloud instance of the app just for you. No servers to configure, no DevOps required. Cancel anytime — your data is exported and the instance is shut down after a 7-day grace period.

Not all apps offer both options — check the app's listing page for available pricing.

Creating an account

Anyone can create a consumer account. Click "Create account" in the top navigation, enter your email and password, and you're in. You'll receive a verification email to confirm your address.

Browsing & discovery

The marketplace lets you:

  • Search — full-text search across app titles, taglines, and descriptions
  • Filter by category — developer tools, productivity, finance, health, media, education, and more
  • Filter by pricing — one-time, subscription, or both

The homepage features popular apps by view count.

Your dashboard

Once signed in, you'll see these sections in the navigation:

  • ✓
My purchases — all one-time purchases with download links
  • ✓
Hosted apps — monthly hosted apps with billing, status, URL, setup, and settings controls
